Shaykh al-Albânî: Have you heard about ’Abdullâh ’Azzâm?
A person: Yes!
Shaykh al-Albânî: ‘Abdullâh ‘Azzâm was here with al-Ikhwân al-Muslimûn. Al-Ikhwân al-Muslimûn boycotted me for about seven-eight years ago. They boycotted my lectures and my call and ‘Abdullâh ‘Azzâm was the only one from al-Ikhwân al-Muslimûn who always came to my lectures with a small notebook and a very small pen. Once the decision of boycotting my lectures came, he never appeared again. I once happened to meet him in the Suhayb-mosque outside the prayer. I greeted him and he shamefully greeted back because he didn’t want to break the agreement. I then said to him:
“Is it this what Islâm commands you?”
He then said:
“The summer clouds will soon brighten up.”
The days went by. One day he came home to me but I wasn’t home. He found out that I was at home at (my son in law) Nidhâm, knocked at the door and came in. He thereafter said:
“I went to your home but didn’t find you there. I’m eager to benefit from your knowledge.”
I then said to him:
“That is what I know, but what is the intention with this boycott?”
He then said:
“You have made Takfîr upon Sayyid Qutb!” – and this is the point.
I asked him:
“How?”
He answered:
“You say that he speaks in accordance with Wahdat-ul-Wujûd in the chapter ‘al-Hadîd’ and ‘al-Ikhlâs’.”
I then said:
“Yes, he has uttered some of the utterances of Sûfiyyah. The only thing one could understand from it is that he speaks in accordance with Wahdat-ul-Wujûd. However, according to our principles we do not do Takfîr upon a person who falls into Kufr before he has received the truth. How can you proclaim this boycott when I am in your midst? If you do not come, then you could have sent someone in order to find out if it is true that I am making Takfîr upon Sayyid Qutb or not. Sayyid Qutb says this and that here and there.”
He had an outbreak and said:
“The man believes in Allâh, his messenger and Tawhîd!”
We then said to him:
“O dear brother, we do not refute the truth he said, rather the incorrect.”
Despite this session, he spread two-three articles in the Kuwaiti journal “al-Mujtama’” with big headlines:
“Shaykh al-Albânî makes Takfîr upon Sayyid Qutb.”
This is a long story. The one who says that al-Albânî makes Takfîr is as the one who says that al-Albânî praises Sayyid Qutb at a particular occasion. These people are Ahl-ul-Ahwâ! The only way to cope with them is to pray to Allâh for them.
“Can you then force people to believe?” (The Qur’ân 10:99, interpretation of its meanings)

Shaykh Muqbil: ’Abdur-Rahmân ’Abdul-Khâliq and Abû Ishâq al-Huwaynî are considered Mubtadi’ah (innovators). That’s right. The same goes for Safar [al-Hawâlî] and Salmân [al-‘Awdah]. Even they are to be deemed as Mubtadi’ah. The same goes for the journal ‘as-Sunnah’ that adapts itself to innovations; it is run by Muhammad Surûr, the one and those who run it. It is considered to be a journal for innovations.

Question:
What do you think of Salafiyyûn going out with Jamâ’at-ut-Tablîgh in order to improve their way of thinking and to teach Tawhîd and spread the Sunnah among them. Especially since they have noticed that they have changed when they have gone out with them.

Question:
What do you consider of the sect Habashiyyah that are followers of ’Abdullâh al-Hararî al-Habashî? What is their doctrine?
Shaykh al-Fawzân:
Their doctrine is grave-worship and associating partners with Allah (Shirk billâh‘azza wa jall). He is a grave-worshiper, and refuge is sought with Allâh, and a Sûfî. al-Lajnah ad-Dâ’imah did a clarification in which they refute this deviant sect and clarify its methodology.
There is a doctor’s dissertation, in two volumes, about the Ahbâsh-sect and its methodology. A Syrian brother by the name ‘Abdur-Rahmân Dimashqiyyah [Dimashqiah] has likewise written a book about the Ahbâsh-sect. Greater and smaller books have thusly been written about them.
In conclusion, they are a Sûfî-sect that engages in Shirk and grave-worship.

Imâm al-Albânî about the knowledge of Hasan al-Bannâ

Shaykh al-Albânî:
The Qur’ân and Sunnah are a few words, but they comprise one’s entire life. This example is hereby mentioned:
“All say that they have love for Laylâ, but Laylâ admits none of it.”
[Proverb]
Hasan al-Bannâ was first of all not a learned man. He was occupied with Da’wah. He saved the Muslim youth when he made them leave cafes and cinemas and the like. There are no doubts about it. Where are al-Hasan al-Bannâ’s books that indicate his knowledge? His father, ‘Abdur-Rahmân, has a couple of books that indicate his knowledge. As for his son Hasan, he only has a couple of small booklets. These small booklets constitute a methodology for his call and (they) do not indicate that he was knowledgeable at all. The one who says that he follows the Qur’ân and Sunnah according to the understanding of Hasan al-Bannâ has turned a blind eye and has submitted to the desires of Hizbiyyah.
Refutation of Tariq Ramadan – Shaykh Usaamah ibn ´Ataayaa al-´Utaybee
We find in the words of Tariq Ramadan thoughts that reflect the beliefs of Kufr (disbelief) and Shirk (polytheism) of the heretic Sufis. The belief in “Wahdatul Wujood” (unity of existence, meaning that everything is Allaah and Allaah is everything) is a form of pantheism and “al-Hulul” (believing that Allaah is in certain creatures), which are heretic beliefs taught by most of the Sufiyyah Turuq in the world today. One should not be surprised to see Tariq showing and expressing these heretic beliefs since the grandfather of Tariq, Hassan al-Banna, was a Sufi of the al-Hisaafiyyah ash-Shaadhiliyyah tariqah that expressed these same beliefs, aswell as Sayyid Qutb who expresses clearly these heretic beliefs in his book “Fi Dhilaal al-Qur’aan” in many places and in particular in his commentary on Surah al-Ikhlaas, aswell as other key figures from Ikhwaan al-Muslimuun (had the same beliefs).

Tariq Ramadan blames the Salafis for being responsible for terrorism! And free and far removed are the scholars and the followers of Salafiyyah from condoning terrorism and the corrupt ideology of the Khawaarij.
It should also suffice us as a confirmation of his misguidance that Tariq Ramadan cooperates with organizations that aggrandize the likes of Hasan al-Banna (who is Tariq Ramadan’s grandfather) and Sayyid Qutb, the revivers of the Khawaarij ideology in the modern era.
Furthemore, Tariq Ramadan has called to leaving off aspects of the Islamic Sharee’ah (such as his infamous call for a “moratorium” on the punishment for adultery legislated by Allaah, subhaanahu wa ta ‘alaa) and abandoning the scholars of the religion. To him, an ideal practice of Islam involves combining Islamic values with the conjecture and doubts of Western philosophers, and he has studied the works of such disbelieving philosophers extensively. In this regard, TIME Magazine “honored” Tariq Ramadan as being one of the most important “innovators” of the 21st century

On 7th July 2006, our brother Abu Khadeejah gave a khutbah in the salafi masjid in Birmingham and mentioned the individual called Tariq Ramadan. You can listen to the khutbah here,

As this individual may not be as well known in the English speaking world as he is in the French speaking world, there is not a lot of material concerning him in English. However, there are some articles in french concerning him and more importantly the words of Shaykh Raajihi on Tariq Ramadan on this site:

Questioner:
What is the ruling in Islam concerning Sufism?
Shaykh Fawzan:
Sufism, there is no Sufism in Islam, this is an innovation. Sufism is an innovation, it is not from Islam.
Thus it is upon those who have fallen into Sufism to repent to Allah the Exalted.
And it is upon them to return to the Sunnah.
And it is upon them to return to that which the pious predecessors were upon from uprightness and firmness upon the Deen of Allah and following the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah are upon him, and following the rightly guided successors.
This is the pure unadulterated methodology.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings are upon him said:
This nation will divide into seventy three sects all of them will be in the fire except one. They said: Who are they oh Messenger of Allah? He replied: Those who are upon what I and my companions are upon.
Thus there is no safety and security except by following the Minhaj of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings are upon, him and his companions.
And Sufism is not from the Minhaj of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah are upon him, and it is not from the Minhaj of his companions, and it is not from the Minhaj of the virtuous generations; rather it is something newly invented in Islam.
And it (Sufism) contains a great deal of deviations; some of which contains grave worship and shirk with Allah the Exalted and belief in the dead.
Thus Sufism also contains polytheism.

Some Affairs of Disbelief and foolishness: The Nusayriyyah (Syrian Alawite Rawaafid)
In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Shaikh Abu Umar Usaamah Al-Uthaybee (may Allaah preserve him) said:
Those Nusayriyyah are disbelievers and heretics. They believe or speak with the trinity. The trinity of the Nusayriyyah are (letters):
ع ، م ، س
‘Ayn’ meaning: Ali Ibn Abee Taalib (radiyallaahu-anhu)
‘Meem’ meaning: Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)
‘Seen’ meaning: Salmaan Al-Faarisee (radiyallaahu-anhu)
Ali (radiyallaahu-anhu) is the Ilaah (i.e. the god or object of worship). Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) is the means of approach to the god or object of worship and Salmaan Al-Faarisee (radiyallaahu-anhu) is the shelter. And from the amazing affairs of these Nusayriyyah is that when a person dies, they would dislocate his left hand. And why is this? So that he will not receive his book of deeds with his left hand, and will (instead) receive it with his right hand. [end of quote]
We ask Allaah to protect us from the beliefs of all the disbelievers, especially that of the different sects and groups of the Shia Rawaafid. Shaikh Abu Umar Usaamah Al-Uthaybee (may Allaah preserve him) is one of the students of Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Hadee al-Madkhali (may Allaah preserve him). The full audio and transcript of Shaikh Abu Umar’s speech can be downloaded at http://www.ajurry.com/vb/. It is a transmission of Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al- Luhaydaan’s (may Allaah preserve him) verdict against the Nusayriyyah of Syria.
